A message from our founders

3

Ten years ago, we set out to build a team with a focus on good science. A place that fosters teamwork, creativity, curiosity, alongside personal growth and development.

And we couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved together. After all, Acaster Lloyd stopped being about us, Acaster and Lloyd, a long time ago — it’s about all the great minds that make up who we are.

But in business, growth requires change. So for the long-term sustainability and continued growth of Acaster Lloyd, the time has come for us to hand over the company to a new leadership team that will continue to support our colleagues and clients well into the future.

In thinking about the transition, we have considered different options. For each option, we’ve questioned how it may impact the team, the quality of the work, and the culture of Acaster Lloyd. And given that our people, culture and high calibre of work have always been at the centre of our long-term vision, we’ve decided the best way to preserve and grow all of this is by transitioning the company to Employee Ownership.

What does Employee Ownership mean for us, our team, and our clients?

In simple terms, the company will transition to being owned by a Trust with a Trust Board. The Trust represents the interests of the team to ensure that the company is run in the best interest of the beneficiaries: the employees. The Trust is not responsible for the day-to-day running of the company.

Acaster Lloyd will be run by our existing and well-established senior-management team led by Kate Williams and Tom Booth as Co-Managing Directors.

For us — Sarah and Andrew — this means stepping back from the day-to-day running and decision-making in the company and focussing on research projects, supporting clients and working as Trustees.

For the majority of the team, little will change in their day-to-day. They are, however, now all beneficiaries of the Trust and have the security of working for a company that is run with their best interests at its core.

Our clients can rest assured that the quality of the work we're known for and the team you work with will all stay the same.

If you have any questions, you can always Ask Acaster Lloyd.
